Overload is a spatial narrative design project centered on an animated short film. It transforms invisible digital experiences into a tangible, surreal memory landscape, examining information overload, data anxiety, and digital hoarding in contemporary life.
"Memories drift where no one remembers leaving them."
"Files bloom and decay within what we could not let go."
"The archive dreams long after we awaken."
Cloud storage creates an illusion of limitless capacity, encouraging indiscriminate saving that erodes our ability to organize, interpret, and assign meaning to memory. This project translates this overlooked condition into a narrative visual journey, exploring how storage systems reshape memory and emotion.
In the exhibition, visitors encounter a looped animated short film that begins with a familiar cloud storage interface and unfolds into a surreal digital memory landscape. Invisible processes such as sorting, compression, forgetting, corruption, and emotional reconnection become visible through data creatures, a memory forest, system scans, layered data sedimentation, and digital ruins.
The project reframes cloud storage as a narrative environment shaped by human emotion and machine logic. Through the Biomorphic Information
Aesthetic, interface structures, data processes, and user anxiety are translated into spatial forms and ecological systems. In this speculative cloud space, data emerges as living entities and landscapes, prompting reflection on digital habits and the emotional weight of stored memory.
The vision of Overload is to reveal the fragility of digital permanence and question human agency within automated memory systems. As total preservation becomes the norm, it asks whether meaning dissolves without intentional choice, proposing that memory endures not through accumulation, but through deliberate selection and reconnection.
Central Saint Martins Shows 2026

This project was conceived, designed, and produced as a graduation project at Central Saint Martins. It was first presented at Central Saint Martins Shows 2026 (18–21 June). It was also included in a curated screening event themed Techno Memories, where it was discussed with visitors and peers.

Environments Design
In this project, the environment is not presented as a series of separate scenes placed side by side. Instead, it forms a continuous spatial system made up of different layers. The structure of the world and the way space unfolds are themselves part of the narrative structure.
As the protagonist moves through it, she is not simply travelling forward in a physical sense, but moving deeper into the inner logic of the fantasy world.
